Ingredients:

  • 12 large sea scallops, patted dry

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • Zest of 1 lemon, for garnish

Mouth Watering Scallops!

Prep and sear the Scallops:

  • Season the scallops on both sides with salt and pepper.

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil until hot but not smoking.

  • Add the scallops, making sure they are not touching each other.

  • Sear the scallops until they have a golden crust and are nearly opaque in the center.

  • Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce:

  • Reduce the heat to low and add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet.

  • Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.

  • Pour in the lemon juice, stir to lift any browned bits off the bottom of the skillet.

  • Whisk in the remaining butter until melted and the sauce begins to thicken.

  • Stir in the chopped parsley, and season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Serve:

  • Spoon the lemon butter sauce over the seared scallops.

  • Garnish with lemon zest and parsley.

  • Serve immediately, accompanied by your choice of side—steamed vegetables, risotto, or a light salad complement this dish beautifully.

Elegant yet easy to prepare, it's a perfect example of how gourmet cooking can be accessible and enjoyable.

Get ready to find out the easiest of hacks at the softness of your hands to eliminate the smell shocks of fish cooking and cleaning.

For Your Hands:

  1. Wash your hands under cold water while rubbing them on a stainless steel object, such as a spoon or the sink itself. Stainless steel can help neutralize fishy odors.

  2. Squeeze lemon juice on your hands or use vinegar. Rub your hands together for about a minute, then wash with soap and water. Both lemon and vinegar are natural deodorizers.

  3. Rubbing wet coffee grounds on your hands can eliminate odors. Rinse off with soap and water after scrubbing.

  4. Make a paste with baking soda and water, scrub your hands with it, then rinse. Baking soda neutralizes odors effectively.

For Your Kitchen:

  2. Place bowls of activated charcoal around the kitchen. Charcoal is highly absorbent and can help remove lingering odors.

  3. Keep a bowl of baking soda in your kitchen to absorb odors.

  4. Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 quart of warm water. This solution can help remove odors from countertops, cutting boards, and appliances.
